A young woman becomes pregnant after having a sexual relationship with a married man and chooses to aborts the pregnancy. Three years later, now happily married, she is haunted by the ghost of her unborn child who apparently seeks the love and affection that she was denied. This is no sentimental love story, it is a gothic horror story, very much so. The theme of sin and temporal punishment involving a controversial legal and moral issue make it intellectually interesting as well as very frightening.
